Access to education,
to choose one’s future.

EMPOWERING AND SUPPORTING

In Bali, access to education remains a luxury for some families. Although school is free and compulsory, related costs (uniforms, supplies, etc.) are unaffordable for the poorest families.

As a result, many children are forcedto drop out of school pour to contribute to their household income.

Our primary mission therefore, is to support every sponsored child and teenager in accessing education, so they can choose their future.

We are committed to unlocking the potential of each child and teenager, fostering their independence, and equipping them with the tools they need to face life, always respecting their roots and Balinese culture.

5 CONCRETE ACTIONS

In Indonesia, school is free from ages 6 to 15. However, expenses such as uniforms, supplies, and meals prevent children from the poorest families from attending school.
Through sponsorship, we cover these costs to secure their education and open up new opportunities.

2. A wide range of extracurricular activities

Every day, we offer complementary classes alongside school: English, IT, reading, Balinese dance and writing, cooking workshops, and much more.
These activities are mandatory for sponsored children and open to all children in the villages who wish to participate, encouraging shared learning, inclusion, and collective growth.

3. Active socio-cultural centers

As the organization has grown, we have built socio-cultural centers in each village where we operate.
These spaces are at the heart of our work: extracurricular activities, monthly distributions, meetings with families, and more.
They bring children together around the values and educational goals of the association.

4. A residential home for teenagers fostering independence

Since 2021, Dharma Citta, located in Singaraja (North Bali), has welcomed teenagers for their three years of high school.
They leave their villages and families to live together, learning how to manage a budget, cook, organize themselves, and study.
They also discover new perspectives, build strong relationships, and develop self-confidence.
Step by step, they begin to shape their future – whether through higher education or entering the workforce – with practical skills and growing independence.

5. A committed local coordination team

In each village, a local coordinator ensures the continuing development of children, manages extracurricular activities, and runs the socio-cultural center.
They also identify the most vulnerable families and assess, through home visits, whether they meet our support criteria (family income and child’s motivation).
A close human connection that makes our work both effective and sustainable.
